CHRISTIAN ELLENWOOD, clarinet
August 9-10

Christian Ellenwood is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. A passionate recitalist and chamber musician, he has presented solo and chamber music recitals throughout the United States and Pacific islands of Japan, Guam and Hawaii. He has appeared with the Ying Quartet, the Telluride Chamber Music Festival, the San Francisco-based Ives Quartet, and the East Wind Quartet. Mr. Ellenwood also is frequently heard on live radio broadcasts on Wisconsin Public Radio, Albany Records, Music of Chris Theofanidis and CD projects of UW-Whitewater. One of six national finalists in the MTNA Collegiate Artist Woodwind Competition, he has performed as principal clarinetist not only with the Woodstock Mozart Festival, but also with the Skylight Opera and the Bel Canto Chamber Orchestras of Milwaukee, the Madison Symphony Orchestra, Madison Opera, and in 1992, with the Eastman Wind Ensemble on its tour of Japan.

With a Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music, Mr. Ellenwood also has a Masters degree from Indiana University and Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro.
