2015 Season Overview

Announcing another winning season in 2015

JULY 25-26 at the Woodstock Opera House in Woodstock

Astounding pianist Mykola Suk opens the season with concert master Kevin Case and principal cellist Nazar Dzhuryn in Beethoven’s Triple Concerto. Conductor Brian Groner conducts the orchestra in bookends to this stunning work with the lively overture from Mozart’s opera Cosi fan Tutti and his profound 38th Symphony, Prague. An experience further enhanced by the environment of the charming, historically significant Woodstock Opera House.

August 1-2 at the Place de la Musique in Barrington Hills

Violinists Igor and Vesna Gruppman (also violist) return to the Festival by popular demand for their fourth visit. Once again they will grace the chandeliered concert hall of the Sanfilippo mansion with a beautiful program of works by Bach, Vivaldi, Holst, Piazzolla and Jerome Kern. Patrons arriving one and one half hours before the 8:00 P.M. Saturday night performance and 3:00 Sunday matinee performance may tour the world’s largest museum of restored antique music machines displayed within the opulent décor of the magnificent Sanfilippo estate.

August 8-9 at the Woodstock Opera House in Woodstock

Igor Gruppman again mounts the podium to conduct the orchestra with inspired precision in Mozart’s Divertimento in D Major and in his popular 40th Symphony.  Pianist Mykola Suk also returns to amaze our audiences with his interpretation of Beethoven’s majestic Emperor concerto.  Colleagues and collaborators for many years, these celebrated artists promise our listeners a unique and wondrous concert opportunity.
